There has been a new program that sends cops to school to help prevent drug use an violence in the schools. State and local law enforcment agencies are bringing community policing to schools. COPS has provided more than 2,300 law enforcment agencies with over 4,900 resource officer through its Cops In Schools program. The program is to help assist law inforcment agencies in hiring officers to collaberate in the schooling communtiy an to use commmunity policing to use in school violence. The federal government is willing to offer guides an reports an training an techniqual assitance to community memebers, school officials an law inforcment that are interested in increasing school saftey.
